IIPA Annual Debate 2024 at University of Kashmir (August 21, 2024)

The Indian Institute of Public Administration, J&K Regional Branch (IIPA-JKRB), in collaboration with the Department of Students Welfare, University of Kashmir, organized the IIPA Annual Debate 2024 on August 21, 2024, at the University of Kashmir. The debate, centered on the topic "Artificial Intelligence is Reshaping the World for the Benefit of Mankind," saw enthusiastic participation from students across the Kashmir Division. In her address, Vice- Chancellor Prof. Nilofer Khan highlighted the importance of extracurricular activities in fostering intellectual growth and holistic development, while Registrar Prof. Naseer Iqbal emphasized the value of debates in enhancing critical thinking and communication skills. Dr. G.N. Qasba, Vice Chairman of IIPA J&K Chapter, thanked the University for its Support and expressed hope for more collaborative events in the future. The event was coordinated by Shahid Ali Khan, Cultural Officer at the University of Kashmir, and saw the awarding of the IIPA Rolling Trophy to the Department of Law, University of Kashmir, for their compelling arguments. The winning team comprised Huma Khursheed and Barha Malik. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three speakers: Yarzuq Bilal (1st place), Seerat Bhat (2nd place), and Huma Khursheed (3rd place), while consolation prizes were given to seven other students. The IIPA Annual Debate 2024 successfully promoted intellectual engagement and reflected the commitment of IIPA and the University of Kashmir to nurturing future leaders.
