Seminar on 'Post Disaster Crisis Management' and 'Sanitation and Innovations' in processing Biodegradable Organization Waste at Srinagar was held on October 24 , 2017. .

Indian Institute of Public Administration, J&K Regional Branch, Srinagar in collaboration with Departments of Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering of SSM College of Engineering organized seminar on 'Post Disaster Crisis Management' and 'Sanitation and Innovations’ in processing Biodegradable Organization Waste". The theme of the seminar was 'Post Disaster Crisis Management' and 'Sanitation and Innovations' in processing Biodegradable Organization Waste". The organizers in a statement said Dr GN Qasba vice-chairman IIPA, Syed Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Andrabi secretary IIPA JK Regional Office and Tahir Mohi-ud-din Wani BDO Singpora, senior functionaries and students of the College participated in the event. On the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) N.A. Shah, registrar, threw light on the relevance and necessity for disseminating awareness among people about importance of sanitation and waste management. The chief guest, Dr GN Qasba made a detailed description about challenges and difficulties the people face at different levels in managing the crisis of natural disaster. He shared the experience of disastrous flood of September 2014 in Kashmir and appreciated the role of all sections of the society in managing the crisis. He emphasized on practicing latest technology and methodology for dispensation of the waste management and curbing the use of polythene and plastic.
